Urine pregnancy tests are usually positive when normal pregnancy has progressed at least one week beyond the first missed period. This test detects hCG, a hormone produced by the placenta. Urine pregnancy tests are not as sensitive as pregnancy tests performed on blood which will be positive earlier.
