PT and PTT (Clotting times)
1201;1202
PT (prothrombin time) and PTT (partial thromboplastin time) measure the time it takes for your blood to clot. When these times are longer than normal, there is a tendency to bleed abnormally. The tests are performed together because each depends on a different set of clotting factors in the blood. The results for each test will be reported to you along with reference values (the upper and lower limits for most healthy people of your age and sex), an interpretation of your results, and general recommendations.
Special Instructions: None.
